Danielle + Cayd • Idaho Falls Engagements

January was a snowy month here in Idaho. I hadn't seen so much snow in years. Idaho Falls had over 17 inches fall in January alone! For every session I was in at least knee deep snow, and this one was no different! Danielle won my Instagram Giveaway back in November and we started planning a snowy engagement session here in Idaho Falls. I was so excited to shoot their engagement session! 

It was Mrs. Gleaves 7th grade science class when Cayd started hitting on Danielle. He was persistent for some time before Danielle showed her interest in him as well. They started dating and now, 7 years later, he proposed and they're still just as in love! High school sweethearts have a love unlike anyone else and I love capturing it! 

Elise + Mike • Kelly Canyon Engagements

Elise contacted me for her and Mike's Engagement photos mentioning that they wanted to incorporate Idaho's natural landscapes. I knew right then Kelly Canyon would be a great spot to show off gorgeous views within Idaho!

These two were troopers! The first half of the session we didn't have any snow falling which gave us a chance to explore some of the prettiest spots I've seen in Kelly's! There were areas where the snow went up to our hips. Elise and I were somehow able not to fall through, but Mike happened to step on every spot that would sink! Less than five minutes in his pants were completely covered in snow, but he laughed it off and kept smiling as he looked at Elise. 

The second half it started snowing. I figured it was perfect timing! We headed up trees for a few, and ran through the snow for others! At one point I found a beautiful full view of the trees, but I didn't have much room to backup. I told Mike and Elise to stay cute right where they were while I laid down in the snow, with a plastic bag over my camera, and got the exact angle I wanted. I'm sure I looked just a little crazy, but I got laughs out of these two, and some stellar shots so I'd say it was well worth it. :)

Engagement Favorites of 2016

I'm amazed that 2017 is just around the corner! I'm so excited for the new year but I had to reflect on this past year. 2016 was full of so many sweet and gorgeous couples. I was able to travel to different parts of Idaho, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado for these couples. Here's the best of the best engagements in 2016. 

I drove my little Chevy Sonic to this snowy session and ended up getting stuck as I was leaving! I felt horrible as both Darbi and Tanner pushed my car out. But I'd say it was worth it for this perfect snow fall. 

Courtney and Ben made one of my dream sessions happen which included a greenhouse! And they still hold the title of the giddiest couple I've ever shot. Seriously, these two couldn't look at each other without laughing. Check out their wedding HERE.

Jordan and Kendall hung out with me in downtown Rexburg in frigid temperatures. Their outfits were so sophisticated it made the session classy and elegant. And look at that genuine laughter! 

Oh my gosh! This shot of Shayla and Austin was at the very end of their session. We were about to wrap things up when I saw this light. I told Shayla and Austin to stand right in front of it and they created this perfect shot. Talk about dreamy! 

This snowy engagement session has some gorgeous light added to it. And the greens were the ones I always dream of! Lindsay and Travis were meant for this light!

Carissa and Jacob were so trusting of my abilities. So when we climbed a mountain of loose dirt for one shot, they were all for it and over the moon for the results. View more of their engagement session HERE.

The mood that Courtney and Wyatt made for their session was outstanding! They had some super romantic kisses and Wyatt was cracking jokes the entire session. 

High school sweethearts and you can tell! Jenna waited for Kaleb on his LDS Mission to Chile. This session was one of the most carefree I've ever done! View their Bridals HERE.

Harley and Jessie spent the afternoon with me and it was amazing! The rain held off for us and we had the prettiest blossoms! 

Alexis and Chase explored one of my favorite hidden gems of Idaho Falls for their engagement session. I loved their semi-casual outfits too! Check out more of the dreamy light and their engagements HERE.

I had so much fun with Sheala and Jesse in one of my favorite spots near Ririe. They were some of the best slow dancers and this fence made for beautiful framing! 

Medicine Bow holds a special place in my heart and Drew and Hannah were all for it! This was the last few minutes of their session as the sun had already set. The clouds and colors were swoon worthy! View more of their engagement session HERE. 

I love couples who are just as adventurous as I am. Jaiden and Beau allowed me to pick their session location and I've done two different session with them, but this photo is one that sticks out. I love those real smiles! View more of their engagements HERE.

These two became engaged halfway through their session on the Colorado Monument! It was the most epic proposal I've ever photographed! View the gorgeous proposal HERE.

The light barely coming in the grove of trees for Brandie and Chapman's session was the cherry on top. And tall pines are a must.
