Stanley Idaho Elopement

What a year 2020 has been, am I right? I want to shout from the rooftops how amazing all the 2020 brides and grooms are. Like, how in the world do you adapt your venue, number of guests, food, etc when guidelines are changing everyday!? It’s been crazy.

Allison and Evan were no different. They booked their Stanley, Idaho wedding with me back in February. It was always going to be a small ceremony with just a few very close friends and family. I was so stoked to be shooting at Redfish Lake, Stanley Lake, and honestly just see what Stanley, Idaho was all about!

In April Allison reached out to me to make sure we were still all set for their August wedding. All their plans were still the same. Then came early August when Allison let me know that no family would be attending since they were all from out of town. I felt horrible! Elopements are already small weddings, but to not have anyone there just broke my heart for the two of them! I promised we’d get epic photos to show off to all their family and friends.

Stanley is a beautiful area! Oh my gosh it was stunning that day. A storm had just cleared out all the campers and explorers so we had the lake pretty much all to ourselves. During their beautiful ceremony, storm clouds rolled in and created the most even light. Allison and Evan read touching vows to one another as it started to drizzle. Before they went to sign their marriage license, I asked if we could get a few shots so we shot for about 2 minutes before it completely downpoured on us! We ended up signing the marriage license in the officiant’s car!

Shout out to Allison and Evan for dealing with all that 2020 threw them. They can get through anything now.

Idaho Mountain Maternity

Madi and Ethan were my bride and groom four years ago! I can’t believe it’s been that long since I shot their Utah wedding! When they had baby Collins I was able to do a lifestyle newborn session which was beautiful. It was so fun hanging out with these three again. Madi totally has the pregnancy glow! 33 weeks pregnant and she still hiked up a mountain for me. I love these views that are so close to Rigby, Rexburg and Idaho Falls! And I’m so glad we decided on this beautiful mountain location after going back and forth on a couple other locations.

Collins was actually teething but she totally rocked the family photos! She was so smiley even through teething! And those photos of Collins kissing baby sister? I’m obsessed with them! Have I mentioned how much I just love these Idaho mountains? I’m so grateful my clients love the mountains as much as I do. Madi, Ethan and I talked about all the place here in Idaho they Razor around and it got me thinking about how awesome of a place we live! I love the mountaintops and adventure areas we have so close to us. Enjoy just a few of my favorites from the Bennett’s maternity session.

Carlsbad Desert Maternity Session

Last week I spent some time in Carlsbad, New Mexico visiting my family. Both my sister and bother live down there so I love being able to see both of them when I come to visit, and I hitched a ride with my parents this time so it was really nice being able to edit in the backseat during the 10 hour drive from Cheyenne.

I told Jodi I wanted to do something a little different than the Flumes we usually do. Jodi and I drove around town to find something. I still wanted a New Mexico location, but I wanted it more unique. We found this hill that showed off the desert look. And on our way back into Jodi’s yard I saw these beautiful trees on her drive way. I love that we were able to get two totally different looks for her session within just 10 minutes of each other.

Today I’m feeling extra grateful for my family, my friends, and everyone in my support system. I have amazing examples in my life and I’m grateful for all of them. Also, my sister seriously has pregnancy glow.
